文化創造都市宣言

わたしたちのまち、豊島区は、多様な人々が夢を描き、営みを重ねながら、彩り豊かな文化と芸術をはぐくんできました。

歴史と伝統を受け継ぎ、これを糧として、次の世代に伝える新たな文化を創造し、世界へ発信することは、わたしたちの望みであり、使命です。

わたしたちが享受し、創造する文化は、癒しと勇気を与え、生きる力をもたらし、まちに新たな魅力と輝きを生み出します。

わたしたちは、文化を通じて相互に理解し、共感し、尊重し合う心を育て、人と人とのつながりを何よりも大切にしながら、あらゆる人々と協働し、いきいきとした地域社会づくりを進めます。

未来に向けて、わたしたち一人ひとりが担い手となり、誇りと活力に満ちた文化の風薫るまち、豊島区を築いていくことを決意し、「文化創造都市」を宣言します。

Proclamation as a City that Creates Culture

 

Our city, Toshima City, has nurtured rich and varied arts and culture thanks to the many different people who have carved out their dreams and built upon their work here. It is our desire and mission to take the history and traditions passed down to us and use them to create and transmit to the world new cultures that will in turn be presented to the next generation.

The culture that we enjoy and create provides comfort and courage, and instills a desire to live to the fullest, thus bringing forth a new appeal and excitement to our city. Through culture, we learn to develop mutual understanding, sympathy and respect for one another. We will work with many people and build a vibrant local society by keeping the importance of these connections with others in mind.

Looking to the future, we hereby pledge that each and every one of us will take responsibility to make Toshima City a city with a rich, proud and vigorous culture, and proclaim Toshima City a City that Creates Culture.
