Daily Life Information for Foreign Residents
In order to work in Japan, you need have a residential status which allows work.
Permanent resident, Spouse or child of Japanese Nationals, Spouse or child of permanent resident, Long-term resident
Highly skilled professional, educator, business manager, Engineer /Specialist in humanities / International Services, etc.
Temporary visitor, Student, Dependent, Cultural Activities, Trainee, Designated activities
*When a person with a residential status of “Student”, “Dependent”, etc. who are not allowed to work want to have a part-time job or when a person with a residential status of “Engineer/Specialist in humanities/International Services”, “Business, Management”, etc. want to work exceeding the range of work permitted, that person needs to apply for permission to engage in any activity other than that permitted.
